Georgia Branch, Associated General Contractors of America (Georgia Branch, AGC) elected Tony Pellicano as the 2011-12 chapter president during their Annual Convention in June. Pellicano Construction has officially moved into Lakeside Commons at 990 Hammond Drive, NE, Building One, Suite 970, Atlanta, GA 30328. Pellicano Construction’s Atlanta office has grown an average of 25% over the past three years in annual revenue. Led by Andy Jones and Reide Onley, the company has steadily grown despite the current economic climate and has hired several employees operating in not only Georgia but also in Illinois, North Carolina, Texas, Kentucky and Florida. Their work consists of ground up construction and interior renovations in the commercial, retail, healthcare, faith based, industrial and hospitality markets. Pellicano Construction Breaks Ground on the Ford City Mall in Chicago, Illinois
Pellicano Construction kicked off the 2011 year by taking on their first construction management project for Equity Group Investments, LLC in Chicago, Illinois. Project Manager, Jim Hackett and Atlanta Operations Manager, Andy Jones will lead the Pellicano Construction team. The scope of work includes the demolition of 180,000 sf of an existing Montgomery Ward department store to make way for future redevelopment and repositioning of the Ford City Mall. The project will include the import and fill of over 65,000 cubic yards of recycled concrete.
Pellicano Construction Awarded Freedom House Church in Charlotte, NC
Pellicano Construction has added to an already strong start to 2011. Pellicano was awarded the construction of a new 24,000 square foot multipurpose sanctuary for the Freedom House Church in Charlotte, NC. We will be working with 3D Project Management led by Mr. David Gay. Andy Jones, Atlanta Operations Manager, will manage the project for Pellicano.
Pellicano Construction’s Commercial Retail Division
On October 1, 2010 Pellicano Construction’s Commercial Retail Division based in Atlanta, GA, completed our latest phase of work at Hamburg Pavilion in Lexington, Kentucky. Among the national retail tenants completed are Ulta Cosmetics and Fragrances and AT & T. The project was completed 2 weeks ahead of schedule. Noteworthy; this is the first true turnkey project Ulta has ever completed with a Landlord and its general contractor.
120,000 sq.ft. Warehouse Ribbon Cutting
Friday, July 23, 2010, Coats & Clark along with the Dougherty County Economic Development Commission celebrated a ribbon cutting for the new 120,000 square foot North American Distribution Center at their Albany location. Executive Vice President, Stephen Dew, will serve as Project Manager for the new warehouse and John Cathey will serve as Project Superintendent.
Officials present at the ribbon cutting included CEO of Coats & Clark, Paul Forman, and the mayor of Albany, GA, Willie Adams. Following the ribbon cutting Coats & Clark offered guided tours of the current facility for all those who attended.

Pellicano (Tony) as Vice President serving on the Chapter’s 2010-11 Board of Directors. Since opening an office in Atlanta almost two years ago the company has experienced growth in a variety of market segments across the southeastern United States. Andy’s primary focus will be to oversee operations, preconstruction and construction management services. He will also be involved in developing new business opportunities throughout the region. After graduating from the nation’s first accredited Construction Management program at Northeast Louisiana University in 1989, Andy has spent the majority of his career as PM, Senior PM and then VP of the 3rd largest retail contractor in the country – based in Atlanta – where he has overseen a construction portfolio spanning 21 states and exceeding $500 million in new construction. Working in an occupied healthcare facility poses many challenges that are not evident in everyday construction and our team understands the risk involved when working around patients, staff, and medical equipment. They have successfully developed and implemented plans to ensure a safe environment for all parties when working under these conditions. Pellicano Construction’s Healthcare Group management staff is certified by the American Society of Healthcare Engineers. Our certification and practical experience in Infection Control and Project Risk Assessment has helped add to the success of our past projects. Our new Healthcare team members will bring several new educational programs for subcontractors, field personnel and clients to ensure that all of the workers and end users on the projects are appropriately trained.

Pellicano Construction has hired Reide Onley to manage the Atlanta offices of Pellicano Construction. Pellicano Construction was founded 35 years ago in Albany, GA. Reide’s primary responsibility will be generating new business opportunities throughout the southeast while leading the company’s overall marketing and business development efforts. Reide has spent his entire 20 year career in the design and construction industry developing long standing relationships in the Hospitality, Retail, and Corporate Commercial markets. Reide is an Atlanta native and a graduate from the University of Georgia’s School of Environmental Design. He is also an active member in the Urban Land Institute’s Atlanta District Council, International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC) and the American Hotel and Lodging Association (AHLA)
