This project consisted of building a main Data Center on an 18” raised floor. The space consisted of Tape Storage, Server Staging Room, UPS Room, a dedicated electrical room, an FM200 Room and a Help Desk. Also included were the build out of ancillary offices, conference room, break room, restrooms and storage areas. Redundant mechanical and power systems were installed for use in the event of a catastrophic event. The entire facility was built to withstand hurricane force winds. Computer room air conditioning (CRAC) units were installed and tied to the main central energy plant chilled water system. A secondary air cooled chiller was installed on the building roof top located above the 5th Floor serving as a secondary source for chilled water. Galvanized steel structural framing was installed along with Vert-A-Cade panels to hide the HVAC unit. Two (2) 225 kva UPS systems were included along with five PDU’s. Each PDU houses 42 circuit panel boards with separate feeds (i.e. dual input).
The project was completed four (4) weeks ahead of schedule with substantial savings returned to the owner!
